Water Leaking After Fuel Hose Replacement??

Hello again guys,

I think I've just found one other post who appears to be having the same problem as myself. I believe that is a 260Z. I've had the two original rubber hoses replaced on my 1992 300ZX as one hose had developed a leak, so swapped them out for some 'install and forget' staniless steel braided ones from z centre. The ar needed to be MoT'd, have the oil replaced... all passed ok. This was last Friday and was fine when I drove it back home.

The following day I drove it into town to pick up some supplies, got back home and parked
and noticed a large pool of water forming under the car. I have no idea what could have caused it. I did notice a loss of power when I took the dual carriageway. Pedal was to the floor but would only do 70mph!? Then a little while later I kicked down again and it was back to normal, quick as hell. The only other check the garage did was check the coolant level. It's going back there again next week to have the leak traced as I can't get under the car myself but it seems to be dripping from the centre of the enegine but can't tell.

I don't know whether the mechanic disturbed a water hose while fixing on new fuel hoses, I have no idea. has this happened to anyone else? :( Just seems whener I get something fixed something else fails. I know it's an old car but if its human error I'd like to find out.

Forgive me if this sounds patronising, but was it on the same day you started to use your air-conditioning again? Could be the evaporation overflow from the bulkhead spigot - LH side. Quite normal.

No not used the aircon at all since getting it back. There was quite a bit of water coming out and I did have to top up the radiator coolant. Didn't come out with the engine off but started to drip out quickly again when I started the engine.

Water supply pipes to the turbos are a common problem on the Z32. All well hidden!
Also there is a fair amount of pipework under the plenum...
