Urgent Rear View Mirror Advice Needed

Hello
Just picked my van up for tomorrow & someone has smashed the n/s rear view mirror off. The van has no rear vision through a rear window although it used to have an interior rear view mirror. The urgent part is I'm leaving soon for a major jaunt with only a drivers side mirror ! it will be abit awkward but the question is it legal to be driving this way.
Thanks

you must have two rear view mirrors. One must be on the drivers side, the other can be either on the nearside or in the same position as a car rear view mirror on the screen however if there are no rear windows that won't work. If you have rear windows you are ok with the central mirror. If it's a hire van take it back it's illegal. As the driver you are responsible and also the owner if it's not yours.

Had to set off to Essex at 5am today so had no time to sort anything before hand, the new mirror unit was ordered as soon as the van came back yesterday & was arriving today.

Anyway it was quite a day today down there with all the floods  & blind over taking manouvers on the motorways & one blind side reversing manouvers

500 mile round trip completed with no damage or injuries, I would never agree to do it again though, the van is huge & in certain situations can be awkward to manouver with both mirrors intact.

In fact I think this kind of thing should carry a fine & points on the licence because it is very dangerous indeed.

Time to chill now :D
