I pinged him over a message asking if the price was a misprint considering not all the panels didn’t line up and didn’t want to crucify the car to much without seeing it in the flesh
He called me an expert but you don’t have to be an expert to see wot I see

Haha! I've messaged him too. I might go and have a look at it in a week or two as its just up the road. I'm no expert, but I'll let you know if I spot anything that's less than perfect!

Owner messaged me to say he's decided to keep it, because the owner of the car he wanted to purchase with the money has decided to keep his car. Which makes it all the stranger that he's just relisted it again for the 3rd time, for £40k.

Just been to look at this as it's near me. The owners a nice bloke, and had some other interesting vehicles - an enormous 60s V8 chevvy truck, 2 replica Ferrari GTOs based on Z3s and lots of interesting classic bikes!

It's mostly a lovely car, with a really tidy engine bay and great sounding exhaust (sounded amazing at full chat!), but sadly I do think he's asking a fair bit more than I think it's worth right now, which he's entitled to do of course - especially as he clearly likes owning the car and is under no pressure to sell. Maybe the prices will keep rising and this car will become good value before it rusts away!

Talking of which, the paint job looks all of its 30 years, and there's surface rust starting all round the inside of the arches and where the wings meet the front valance. Little spots bubbling here and there on a couple of other panels and lots of little dents here and there.
So it would need a bit of work just to tidy all that up and stop it getting any worse.

The headlight buckets were welded to the wings too - they should be separate right?
As mentioned already, the left dogleg is a different level to the door, so that repair was a bit off. I didn't find any filler on the car though, so both sellers seem to be true to their word on that!

Also the car was clearly white originally - under the carpet the entire boot and spare wheel well is still white.

The interior while mostly good has some issues - wrong steering wheel, not very nice seat covers, tacho not working, fake wood panel where the stereo should be, and a big plastic panel at the back right side missing.

Underside looked really tidy, but as mentioned the rails didn't look to have had the neatest repairs in the past.

Engine bay probably the best bit of the car - really clean and tidy, and engine seemed in good nic as the car went really well.

But all in all, it's not up there with the other cars I've seen priced the same, and I think I'm definitely leaning more towards a cheap 280z import or the like, if this is what 35 to 40k gets you.

Some pics below - which I stress are just the negative parts. Overall it looks like a solid car with nothing worrying. I just think for 40k, it needs to be spotless.
