Sadly Barrie (Whizzo) Williams and Bill Gwynne.

I saw Barrie racing a few times and he was very quick and entertaining even into his seventies. He finished racing last year at 79 and his mother is still alive! Barrie owned a 240Z for a while (the one on the Hagerty Insurance video) and came over to talk to us about Datsuns at the Gold Cup a few years ago. He has raced Big Sam 'in it's day' too. He was a very down to earth guy who phoned me a few times about Datsun specialists etc and he was a 'Z Club Member' for a while.

When I did a few Motoring News road rallies in the 70s Bill Gwynne was a 'big' name. I met up with my rallying mate Pete Forrester last year at a reunion I asked him who he considered to be the best driver he had navigated for and he said it was Bill. Pete said he was fast but very smooth and un-hurried, which makes a navigator confident and able to do their job better.
