Well what a great day and show. Weather was kind to us . Dry all day. Warm and sunny from lunchtime onward..
1x 240Z
1x Z31.
1xSlicktop Z32
4 x LWB family versions.Z32.. in at least two cases actually carrying whole families to a great event.
Apart from the above our prime tarmac club area was covered in 350/370Zs. Including a VERY nice Nismo 370Z in pearl white which I really fancied. A competent track day car straight outta the box on a hot day like today with fully working aircon did have some considerable appeal.
Since I had no mates to take pics I was forced to photgraph my own car..... bit sad really:eek:

Thanks to Rose for sorting club area and tickets for me.

Pics..................

Cheers for those who organised this, was a good day despite one of the our 350Z dropping lots of little metal chunks out the bottom of it,

and cheers Pmac for the picture of mine :)

I haven't been to trax for a long time now and had forgotten just how good an event it was. Will deffo be going again. A great turnout on the club stand so thanks to the organisers and those that filled it. Had a great time on track. First time round silverstone so still learning but managed a 1min 9second lap whilst haveing fun with a porche cup.

So was that the old 'Club' circuit then i.e. Copse, Maggots, Becketts and then the long straight to Brooklands, Woodcote and back to the start? Bit like a big triangle.

It is the National circuit in new nomenclature since Silverstone now has several track configurations.
IMO its a good layout for club type members . Easy to learn. Plenty of room for "errors" in safety!!.
Long enough straights to get the foot right down to the floor.
Probably not very challenging for "experienced racers" but this isnt an event for them anyway.

However lets not digress in to technical details of tracks etc.

That's what happens when you let a bunch of tyre shredding drifters use the track just before your session.

Really enjoyed the day, just glad it all came good in the end, Rose had several late nights trying to tally up the tickets what with people dropping out, changing, swapping and coming into the list late, lol. There was a LOT of marble on that track, but thankfully the oily smoke pouring from my exhausts took my mind off of it a little. lol

Not to worry, my own fault for not doing the oil change I said I would and bought the gear to do before heading to Silverstone. So, because I didn't, I had oil temps of 103-105c after only one semi-hot lap and then lots of blue smoke. Drove home absolutely fine, not a whiff of smoke, even on full boost, so an oil change it shall get and I'll have to get her warm again to see if she still smokes.

Hopefully we can attract more 300s next year and even persuade a few more z31s, s130s and s30s to come along. Derrick was originally bringing Candy Red, but it clashed with his anniversary abroad, so he had to bail and there were a few other 300s supposed to come, but then had to bail last minute sadly.

Its a thankless task sorting out tickets and drop outs ( that does not read quite right )
From my experience of doing the tickets at Japfest 1 it is far easier if the tickets are posted out rather than meeting up with people on the actual day to give them out
This year out of the 116 I posted out only 1 went missing and that was due to an error by me which was a 100% improvement on 2012 and 2013 when 2 went missing each year

Big thumbs to rose for stepping up to organize the tickets and stand for owners enjoyment Thanks

Agreed, there are different ways to sort it, but to us there are several issues posting them out. One being that we don't have access to any 'club funds' from anywhere to dip into and pay for said postage, so we'd have to charge for it in the ticket, which people don't seem to like. Then the fact that the organisers always send them to us a mere 10 days before the show, so any that don't make it, are impossible to sort out. Then there's the drop outs and swaps, which if everyone has their tickets, also becomes hard to sort out the closer it gets to the show. We transferred 2 stand passes and 1 ticket the night before Trax for example, which would have been completely impossible, had we posted them out to the people who ended up not coming. If you see where I'm coming from? It would possibly be less stress to send them out, but we'd have been a few cars down.

I have had the same problem as you have for Trax or Steve for Japfest1 but on a smaller scale.

When I organised my first Mallory Park event it was a nightmare. Members were committing to the Z Club and paying me so they seemed to think that they could mess me about with no consequence.

The second and third year I just arranged the Club area with the organisers and a method of block- booking track-time. I then got people to buy admission and track-time direct with the promoter. They then realise they can't change their minds. The promoter did the posting too.

However with the bigger events it might not be so easy.
