Thought a thread like this could be helpful.....any one wish too add?

Broken down in the car with the mrs....

After looking you find the coil is shorting out (or dizzy cap) due to a large crack.......oh dash it, I hear you cry......not to worry..a good deep scrape of the crack with a small screwdriver and a little of the surrounding area, get the mrs nail varnish and give 3 or 4 good coats and hey preto......ya mobile.

Oh and don't ask if the colour makes a dirrerence either...

Nail varnish is also a good temporary fix for any scratches that go to the metal. Get some clear stuff and give them a couple of coats to stop any water getting in and starting the rust as you wait for the cash to come in to get it repaired properly.

Colour is optional.

MMMMM a tad slow here,

How about a leaky core plug and an overheating car as the side of the road....A good old scrape of the core plug to get it to shiny metal followed by a tube of super glue( yes most petrol stations sell it) and a coin. dry the core plug after cleaning, clean the coin too and yes it will stick and hold in place......:driving: tried and tested many many times!;)

I've used that metal epoxy putty stuff like this -

- to fix small holes in exhausts and leaking radiators.
