I finally got around to reading this! lol

Really interesting looking at the available options, have you had a chance to fit them yet Jason? I'm going through a very similar situation right now as well so keep to get as much advice as possible. If your willing to share more about your exact setup and prices etc I'd be really curious to hear more. Feel free to drop me a PM if you prefer...

Before the pics disappeared it looked really good.

I've just bought a set of BC coilovers so I can test them for myself and compare to the GAZ setup on the blue car. Should arrive next week and I'll get them on ASAP.

I'll be really interested to hear what you think about them and how they compare to your Gaz setup. Which car are you putting them on?

Keep us posted

I've bought the bc's for the silver car in an attempt to improve its track ability. I'm not trying to break any lap records but will be taking it round brands a few times. I also want to improve the stance but will retain the look and keep the factory steel wheels. Basically I just want to have a bit of fun with the car.

The bc's are on order but won't be with me until the 18th which is a bit of a disappointment. I hate waiting for stuff and was hoping the do the entire suspension refresh within a week or so.

You could supercharge it while you wait for the BCs. You've got 15 days....

What spring rating did you have on your gaz set up ?

The GAZ setup evolved over the years and now has 350lb all round which gives the car a very neutral feel. Plus when you wind the dampers down it great on the roads. The GAZ setup has lasted really well as the car has seen quite a few miles and still as good today as when I first purchased it. Makes me think twice about why I've gone for BC's really. Ah yes, now I remember, its price. The BC's cost me £500 less than the GAZ setup. As the car will only be for occasional track use I think I've gone the right way. The BC setup is more road orientated with spring rates of 225lb and 275lb. These may still be a little hard for the light 240z and probably just right for the heavier 260/280z. I'll have to see how it goes.

I see this thread has been bitten by the great Photobucket forum disaster too :-(

I agree, I'm not a user but it looks like a suicidal move to me.
It is a recurring thing in forums like ours though - you see so many great threads from years gone by where the pictures are AWOL because the image hosting provider has shut up shop or changed the rules.
It would really be in each forums interest to have good tools for photo hosting to retain the integrity of threads.

Thumbsnap I use occasionally more than Photobucket now as the site is just a pain to use and very slow.

Isn't the loss of pics due to them being 'viewed' more than PB allows or something?

sort of - they've changed the amount of views allowed on 3rd party sites for 'free' accounts to zero. They require you to upgrade to a 'p500' account that costs ~ $400 / year. AIUI.

I have never used and always hated photo hosting sites. I regularly see threads where pictures are missing and this has been happening for a long time. why do people not just upload from their computers to the forum? I guess if everyone did the same as me then the hosting would fill up.

The form's picture hosting ability seems to be quite limited and amazingly slow to me?

And you can't embed pics on the site as to do so you have to have them hosted somewhere and you have to have jpg files which display as thumbnails ... sometimes they don't even open for me ...

I'll agree that it there are many issues with uploading picture to the site, which really annoys me. Yes, they are very slow to access (If you click next, all the way through the files they then display) and you can only attach 1 per post from an iphone/ipad. But at least the threads will always show the pics.

Wish I had an answer.

I have stopped using photobucket as it is too slow and too many ads poping up all the time
Shame as there does not seem much of an alternative.
