The DVD Has Landed - Yikes

Morning all,

Anyone else from the intrepid bunch of Enstone warriors received their Clarkson DVD?

Mine arrived on Friday, but I didn't get around to watching it 'til yesterday, and even then, with some trepidation! :D

Well, there's no slating of Zs, no "oh, the horror!" etc, etc, in fact the whole thing only lasts for about 3 mins .. LOL .. lot of effort for a little footage. However, I have to say, the cars look superb in the film - there's a really nice shot of Neil's car to start, and there's some very nice shots of my car, both getting slaughtered by Gio's TT (poor driving from Clarkson ;) ) and in his summing up bit at the end - which of course, isn't *entirely* accurate, but still.

Tony's 260 is only just a whisker (and I mean a whisker) behind my car in the take they've used, so hat's off to superb 70's technology.

Oh, and by the way - is that a false start I see by Mr DJ?

Rest of the DVD is OK - but not exactly ground breaking, it could have been sooo much worse though - so small sigh of relief breathed. :D

CheerZ,
JB.

aarrrggh the frustration - still not arrived in merry Colnbrook. Maybe the Slough posties have eaten it? And my last Amazon order as well? I can feel an attack of GOM coming on..... Especially since you and neil300zx have both got yours. Humph.

Hang on, there Mr "Penalty Points for DJ" man .. surely there was some stipulation about the cars in the race being standard too, wasn't there? :D :D :D

It didn't say anything about super-powered 260s with Wild Cams, 14 Carburettors, Nitrous and a jet engine, did it? :)

Taxi for Tony! ;)

LOL - JB just kiddin' too .... gotta get me one of them S30-types!

Standard? Moi? Shurely shome mishtake...

She's nippy, but...

Stock 2.8, stock cam, 240 carbs, K&N's and 6-branch headers is all I've got. Nitrous in bits in garage not fitted yet, jets only courtesy of baked beans and ex Saturn-5 rocket engine still in container half-way across the Atlantic.

JC lifted off, he must have!

(Although I'd be bl**dy chuffed if I thought he was REALLY going for it!)

Well, maybe he did - one thing's for sure, he was always going to cut his cloth exactly so it fitted the premise of the DVD. After all, the comments about weight are a load of garbage for a start, given that the 350 and the 300 weigh pretty much the same.

There are two reasons why the 300 leaves the 350 in its wake, and both of them are made by Garrett! ;)

HI,Chap's.
Got my DVD 'HOT METAL' on thursday morning,& Neil's
car got a nice shot commencing the 'drag race' sequence.
I,ve not seen it all yet but the car's look great & JC was only
trying to get the point over that old car's (70's) are faster than
the 350z, he failed as he had his foot on the brakes & wanted the 350Z to look slow. Gio's 300 TT & Tony's 260 2 seater looked
& hit the finish line way ahead of the other's.
" False Start "......By D.J ????.....That's called REFLEXES.
When the director put his arm down that's the cue, therefore I
am a living legend & drove my ,supposedly heavy 260Z 2+2
In a creditable & it's the driver manner.
The only 'False Start I've had was when I was born...........

Yeah, we know it was a set-up (would have made JC's DVD premise look a bit daft if the 350 had stuffed us all out of sight!), but damn didn't we all look good?

:-D

DJ, Sorry - my mistake ... let me congratulate you on your lightning reflexes, my man! :D

Fancy me not realising that from the the start.

You were already a living legend, long before the launch of the Clarkson extravaganza!! ;)

You're spot on, though - all the cars looked mighty fine in the DVD, without exception. Nice shot of my "Z" keyring too, I thought!! :D

CheerZ,
JB.

Hi,John.
Thank's for that..... I've just freez framed the drag race,
& the green light comes on before take off. Great shot of Neil's
Z,(could'nt happen to a nicer person) Gio's TT & Tony's car are
shown as superbly as could be & Jeremy Clarkson's Overall
theme is how older BMW's,Ford GT40, TVR's, Z's etc. were
better in comparision to what is made now.
The car's both old & new were subjected to comparision's
& some new car's were shown to be better than older car's.
Therefore no real argument.
All the Z's looked great & the Zclub is credited in the finish title
credit's what more do we want?.

That would be Tony's 260Z ,I think featured in Summer 2004,
Z Club Magazine, also featured in 'Retro cars" early in the year,
The car's outstanding & the owner's pretty good as well.
