The big 50 is coming

Donnigton, Silverstone or Brands would get my vote.

Driving to Scotland doesn't really appeal.

My view is to combine it with our Donington event and include the Classic Z Register guys as usual.

There is a race meeting to entertain those that want it, other car clubs to see and them to see us, some hospitality facilities (but a bit basic) and it's central for England. If we hold it 'up North' or in the South West we run the risk of poor attendance.

For those wishing a circuit lap (slow parade) well they do that there too.

Silverstone is so big, flat, bland and expensive.

The main downside is that rough cart-track.

Donington has too many negatives for me, not least the most appalling access track which is an absolute insult to all classic car owners, rock strewn, rough as **** and dust of Sahara proportions.

Silverstone (Classic) gets the vote for any track based event with Oulton Park next best.

Ok if you don't like Donington, my absolute favourite would be to combine it with the Spa Classic.

Surly the 50th should be including all the relevant clubs that cater for any variant of the Z series no matter what age that car is

Regarding the NC500 just spoken to a z member who did the whole loop last week and he said it was a great experience but it would not work for a large group of cars due to the nature of a lot of the roads

No people can only turn up if their car is 50 years old and they've owned it from new. ;)

already spoke to Jon about this prior to this years to see what sort of response people at the classic gave
there has also been a bit of a chat on face book about doing Zedfest for it also
I would like to throw in the hat the NC500 tour

Just an FYI Steve (and anyone else for that matter) its become very much a tourist trail now with more traffic and police I would add. There's plenty of other really interesting roads that you can use to avoid a lot of traffic and unwanted attention for those that wish.

Personally I'd stick off the beaten track if you're making the effort to go that far North, also with a big convoy of classic cars its stop chips galore up there. I personally wouldn't convoy my Z up there having destroyed the paint on the front of my MR2 earlier this year and I really do like using my cars but its not worth it!

I'd highly recommend taking a trip that far North though

As for the 50th meet, I think it will be hard to beat a relatively central venue such as Silver stone which has good access and facilities. It comes down to how public you want it to be as to whether its tied in with an event such as the classic which invites plenty of cost with that attention I'm sure.

Just my 2p

From experience of attending meetings if we (who?) organises an event just for Z owners the attendance will be poor. It will take a lot of work and there is high risk involved. I could go into a lot more detail but just making the point that it's far easier and safer to combine it with another meeting.

I'll go with the Silverstone Classic if that's the consensus - is Spike's old premises still standing? ;)

I feel we will get stronger number of zeds at Silverstone As it's middle of the country may be see if we can camp at Silverstone

We could see about a parade lap again

Just a matter of persuading people to come out in there zed

What makes 2019 even more interesting is
50 years of the Z
30 years of the Z32
10 years of the 350Z
To correct the typo, 10 years of the 370Z. Also, possibly the first year of the new Z??

All very good reasons why we should mobilise the troops!

It's difficult to come up with a venue that's not already been mentioned. That is, unless we stray from a car-themed destination.

Do we know of anything else that is celebrating 50 years in 2019 ?

A bridge or ship or train or the Beatles etc etc?
