[SOLVED] Telephone

Hi, I am a new member. Have just bought an imported 350Z. This was built December 2002 and has the normal Japanese navigation TV DVD and phone system. I understand that this cannot be made to work and that all has to be taken out and replaced I hope I can get phone system to work and discovered that the Sharp GX10 phone fitted my cable but no reaction with internal system.

Has anyone else had this problem? Please advise me what to do.

I don't think you can make it work with your Import either.... not 100% sure, in fact i didn't even think imports had the handsfree setup. I am quite confident that handsfree setups are mounted on UK cars when the cars arrive in the country, but didn't know that JDM cars had a handsfree setup too.....

more jdm owners here, you might wanna ask them too :)

EU Coupe's have phone integration, sounds like what you have is something that was added to the car by the previous owner in Japan? Can't be sure of course.

The EU Supported phone list has been covered in this thread, but essentially, the UK options are here (not that this is of much use to you, as the 350Z has phone integration built into the system when it hits Sunderland).

If you can't get it to work...

I can thoroughly recommend the Parrot CK3100 bt hands free kit, the range is good (I always forget my phone, it connects when I turn the car on, drive 25yds down the road and then as it loses range I realise I've forgotten it), it's a pretty tidy install, and works without thinking.

Hope you get yours sorted but if not you could use something like that.

In conversation with Nissan today about a faulty phone cradle, got quite excited when it was hinted that there was a bulletin about new phone developments - about time, I suggested, with the facelift model imminent and all that.
I'm then told that the Parrot universal Bluetooth with LCD display is on the list with various leads to connect to the in-car systems of different models. And then, in the small print....350Z still under development. So, no light to suggest that the tunnel even has an ending!

v.interesting Mr.F.

to be honest, I bought a really cheap phone on a last minute special deal just before they went out of stock, and then bought a replacement (Nissan) THB kit for the phone, as my old 6310i had pretty much died.. am now using a 7250i.

I'd love to move into this century with any new phone development.. then maybe myself and other UK drivers could have something decent that's integrated with the car.

In the meantime, I think the original poster, like most import drivers have the best option of buying a generic kit and bolting that on somehow.

Maybe this decade...

I'm now in regular contact on this one, so plugging away from another direction to get Nissan going. Can't believe they didn't get this sorted out for the 2006 model launch!
