As a VAT registered trader in the UK selling to the EU community, you charge the rate of VAT applicable in the UK (17.5% now and 20% from 4th Jan 2011).

If selling to another VAT registered company / individual you can sell VAT free, but have to report all such sales with the recipient's VAT number every three months on a VAT101 form (Value Added Tax EC Sales List). Thus the recipient has to supply these details at time of ordering.

The rules apply to both VAT rated goods and VAT rated services.

Mike, that was excatly what i wanted to read, as said i allready knew about it, thanks.

Now i can use your writing to copy and paste, so i don't have to explain it to the seller in "Danglish"

Don't complain about 20% sales tax, we have 25% here.
