Well said Don totally agree with your comments and keep at it with your car.Roger

So 'Rudyard', here's your chance to put on record just what your gripe(s) with your treatment on this forum have been. Come on, let's see if we can get to the bottom of it shall we?

I think I'm right in saying that either your first or second ever posts after joining the forum were an attempt to pick laughingly trivial holes in a very good car that was for sale at a very reasonable price, coincidentally whilst you were trying to sell one of your own cars (which was nowhere near as good and had a somewhat, er, patchy history...). Those posts were subsequently deleted when you were picked up on them, were they not?

For every whine about "opinionated arseholes" I can point to an example of misguided and ineffectual work, misinformed opinion, bad data, poor advice given, self-entitlement, lack of effort and lack of self-awareness. Some of the people pointing the finger are no angels themselves, and yet they take no responsibility for their part in sparking off any 'robust' debate. The 'Don Muscles' thread for example is an embarrassment to the marque, a bad example to any prospective or current owner and the main protagonist positively revels in it. And yet here he is taking umbrage at his treatment as if he is totally without blame?

This is an automotive-themed forum. If you expect it to be 'Happy Clappy' then you are probably mistaken and might be better off attending a nice Anglican church, where they have guitars and recorders to accompany the singing.

If I am going to go somewhere, I want to have fun on the way (Le Mans classic etc) as well as having loads to do once there. Each to their own but the idea of turning up somewhere, parking and then just sitting around all day doesn't seem that fun to me.

Completely agree with that - sitting around in a field with nothing to do but talk ain't my idea of fun.
Combining a bit of chit chat with track time or other activities would get more attendance I'm sure.

As for people being easily offended by opinionated members, I think you just have to force yourself to accept everyone has good intent and the medium just can't convey what you'd get f2f. Having met many of the bruisers on here, I know that to be so.

Perhaps it seems like this community is dying because everytime someone posts something there are a bunch of opinionated arseholes ready to jump on the malicious wagon, and shine their views to every being, pushing potential new, and existing members away, hence why there is less participation amongst group members?

...

Really ?

Go back to your build thread and show me where the posts were malicious:p:lol:

All good comments, think the bum holes have gone Don so it's got boring like sum said

STOP!!!!!!

This petty arguing between people with a personal tone is exactly the sort of thing that would put people off. I have seen so many threads go this way over the 18 months or so I have been a Z-Club member.

If you want to cyber-punch each other, do it outside by PM. As was said, this is an Automotive forum so keep it automotive themed.

Rob, glad you enjoyed Tatton & it's always nice to get people buzzing round the car asking questions. It's one of the reasons I attend shows but I just can't get to all of them especially ones where a lengthy journey is required. What if it rains?

Did any recognise your car without Damon?:D

Totally agree. As for the show, at least three people who came up said they had seen the programme on the telly and recognised the car. Which was good because I had resisted the temptation to put an 'as seen on TV' sign on it!
