Hi, has anyone got a front and rear suspension strut out and can measure for me the distance from the base of the tube to the top of the top mount please. Back and front required.

Measurement needs to include the top mount

Thanks in advance

I could do some measuring down at the garages later this afternoon, but I'm not 100% sure what dimensions you actually want...?

I get the "base of the tube" bit, but not where I should be measuring to.

edit: Also, bear in mind that not all struts were created equal. There are various tube lengths and spring platform mounting positions depending on model and market.

Is this what you are after

Front strut 420 mm total 270 mm to base of spring perch weld
Rear Strut 486 mm total 307 mm to base of spring perch weld

Ok so why I need the measurement is due to the koni specialist I sent my shockers to for a refurb on 2nd October 2019 ( getting ahead of the rush) still have not managed to obtain the bits ( remember I said koni specialist) and now will not even answer the phone or messages to return the old items to me.

I need to reassemble a front and rear strut so I can see what the measurement should be from the base of the tube the shocker sits in to the top of the mounting that bolts into the car. The spring needs to be inplace to hold the strut at full extension as if it was going to be installed in the car.
The reason for needing the measurement is so I can weld in new tubes to take the new bilstien ( NOT Datsun units) shockers and have the measurement from the top of a standard top mount to the base of the tube the same or nearly the same as a standard unit.
The photo yellow Z has posted is the base of the tube. Now I need the distance between that and the top of the top mount of a fully assembled strut.

Reading between the lines you may get the impression that I am not enamored with Koni specialist or Koni any more.

Thank you in advance.
