Can anybody tell me why the standard 350Z wheels are marked Front or Rear on the back of one of the spokes?

The reason is that the Rays alloys are different sizes and Nissan put a peg on the rear hubs to prevent people installing them the wrong way round. Therefore, the standard alloys come in 'fronts' and 'rears' with and without the hole for the peg. Also, the wheels might be the same size but the tyres aren't.
BTW, the peg can easily be removed from the hubs if required.

I have a few friends in the US running Z33 wheels, on their Z32's. Not sure if there were changes required to bolt them on or not.
