I think Spikes main point, as he says earlier, is that it’s over. It should remain what it is and be a closed book. It was of its time.

Unless that book is a re-print of an earlier book, and not a copy of a book that someone else wrote that just looks like a similar book, with a new cover photo.

Dunno, 70’s 80’s 90’ I guess. Other than the last three which were done for various reasons , no I’m not naive enough not to know some of those reasons were financial (but then why not, his creation, his marque, his effort, his financial input and risk in the early days, his development, his trademark, his baby!)
I just get that he thinks it’s time to close the book or however you want to put it. Samuri was mainly him and it’s over. Leave it where it is. Let others do what they want but let them do it their way I think is the point of his “update”.
