Speedo Cable from Rock Auto

Hi there folks.
I got my speedo working this week.

I bought the cable from Rock Auto. As expected it was way too long but I just ran it further along the inner wing and back on itself. I turned the gromet upside down where it goes through the bulkhead and all seems well.

Now I need to locate an oil temp sensor so I can get that working. Alas Rock Auto do not seem to stock those ggrr.

Cheers

Hi Darren

Just seen your post. Oil temp sensors on the sump were standard fitment to European cars but only fitted to turbos in the US. (Don’t ask me why😳)

So if you you were looking for one on Rockauto you won’t find one listed for non turbo models. Here is the link for the correct unit to fit yours. I know this as I needed to replace mine. 😋

Undo the collar nut on the sump that holds the sensor. Swap the sensor and retighten the collar nut.

Thanks Huw.

I already had the old sensor out when I had the sump off last week re sealing it.

What I couldn't locate was the wire that should be plugged into it. That will be a fun game of hide and seek!!!
