Please make a big effort to keep the presentation of our site attractive to new browsers and interesting to existing members (newbies and oldies) !

Nice try Sean.

One of the best examples this post of just what we dont need.(In my very small personal opinion).
But Im one of those who is tiring of it. Bear in mind I have been "on forum" since the first week. I just met 900S today face to face. What a nice new Z car owner. Came on the forum, asked some qustions, listened to the advice and then went off searching for a car, now hes got one and buying a few bits from people on the forum.
If the forum continues downhill like it is then we simply wont attract new members like 900S, cos the whole site will be full of trash.

maybe in your opinion the site is going downhill but iI wonder what Gunvat,grolls,neil300ZX and 900s, all new members, think about the site as new members
would these people have joined in the forum if there was only 10 posts a day on it as there was only a year ago, not sure if they would
Also look at the nature of some of the posts by these new guys are they only posting up serious posts or are they having fun on the forum by joining in or even starting posts like Elvis,Spamming or Know your ABC

In my opinion not all people visit this forum visit just for parts for sale by members or serious debate on the in and outs of the marque

A lot of the new people who visit and stay with the site because there is a good mix of various topics on parts tech and humour and in the most part politness towards other peoples needs

some times and I include myself, we all need reminding of using a bit of discrection in our posts as an imediate reply could lead to upsetting a user like chief brody and they never come back to the site again

we also have to move with the times and accept that the internet and open forums is what the younger genaration wants and if we cant accept that we are in danger of going back to the z club devide that happened back in the mid eighties

I left the Z club in the mid eighties pretty much because of the politics at the time - that kind of thing sucks and spoils everyone's fun. I did not really understand it, I did not want to understand it, it was none of my business. Interestingly, the protagonists also left.

As a relative newbie, "born again Z owner" and overly gobbed enthusiast I have found the forum great.

I asked questions, got answers I did not really want to hear (I wanted to be told I was right - alas I was not) and subsequently changed my project build wildly. Different engine, different car, different person to build etc etc etc. I have been given different view points, different ideas and the odd slapping for wanting to do something dim.

Sure there are things that I find inane, silly and sometimes plain inexplicable but this is a good forum with very knowledgeable people as members, some razor sharp caustic wit and even friendly jibes about being Welsh, English, French etc.

Let's lighten up a bit, keep the crap to a minimum and focus on the good stuuf here not the bad.

Then can those people keep their comments for the non-serious threads.

There is room for both here, plenty of room.

I agree with Steve, Although I would still have joined the club if it had only been tech stuff and wanted or for sale but would not be an active user unless i had a tech question or wanted some bits. but im glad i did join because as a relative newbie when i met up with the other guys at the Jeremy Clarkson DVD shoot they were a good bunch we all had a laugh but you still know that if you want some serious advise you can still ask these guys and you will get a sensible answer, even guys i have'nt met face to face the likes of Steve Burns, Sean Dezart, Zbloke, boomer etc we have good banter in the chat room, its fun. In my opinion the Club/Forums are a good mixture.

There is room for a laugh, even in the serious threads but sometimes it goes on a bit, like a child who doesn't know when to call it a day and other times the original thread gets 'drowned' in spam !
I'm asking everyone to respect others and perhaps restrain from posting up something and instead, leaving it or PM the person, the joke is ovbviously with them !
I would find it very boring if their were just the serious bits and the jokey bits and never shall they meet but I strongly feel that it is on the way to getting out of control !
The only ones that can keep this site credible and interesting for the majority are us and me too I find it boring year ago, now it buzzes, let's try and keep the quality at the same level as the quantity !

Thanks Neil - if you haven't met Steve Burns, try not to do so with his mouth full !

i too agree with steve also, my work forum was very tecnical and became very clinical and down right boring, now from a staffing level of about 5k i should now imagine there are only 30 people that go into the site now and they normally go there to slag each other off or the company.....i think this is now a great site and one i chose to visit every day...light hearted banter, im up for that.

of course if someone has a tec. question it would be nice to see a reply instead of just idle banter but from what ive seen so far everyone has had lots of honest and straight responses and been happy with that....

mind you some of the people moaning about hijacking threads are also guilty of it themselves from time to time! do i moan about it? no! i just get on with my z and my life and smile (alot):D :D :D :D :

Well thats settled it then!

The overwhelming majority are all for a bit of humour.
As always I agree with DJZ 60, Hes a good egg!
Im a newbie, and at first i thought it was a bit difficult to get to know you guys, but the lighthearted humour has helped me kinda socialise. Im not a retard, whose frightened to mix, but it helps you get to know the system if your not technically minded, new to zeds, new to the club, new to this site, like many, like me.

SO CHEERS FOR THE FUN AND BANTER ITS GOT ME HOOKED>

A) Hand's up who's boring? B) Hand's up who's lively?

People in catagory A : are usually senile, stuck in a rut & are not
with it .These people don't know how to smile,or offer warmth to stranger's or newcomer's & feel as if life evolves around them.
They live in cuckoo land & will never admit when they are wrong.
They are often seen making bird dropping sandwiches, which they down, followed by a a couple of glasses of urine.
They have no personalitie's & shop window's have dummie's
who are more interesting in conversation.

People in catagory B) Are the fizz in champagne, The Z in an
Alphabet, The light in a dark room,& these people go out of their
way to make someone feel at home,to put other's at ease,&
To guide & direct. These people are the eye's for the blind,The ear's for the deaf,The shield for the weak, & are liked by not
One or two people but liked whereever they go & whatever they
do. The best thing is this rub's off on other's,because it's
infectious, but not terminally harming,it's contagious but not
something that bring's you down. No It lift's you up,
your spirit's are raised & These people are caring for other's.

WHO ARE YOU? WHICH GROUP DO YOU BELONG TO?.

ARE YOU BEING HONEST? .....................DJZ 60.

You're forgetting Group C, the intelligent non-smokers who know when to drink and when not to drive, who don't need to show off like the bloody do-gooders !
These are the constructive ones who create sites, inject some interest and provoke debate !
