For what the 280Z is up for it makes them couple of 240Z on ebay seem good value to me.

Hands down, that part-assembled 240Z for 165k every time over a rotten 280Z. And stretching into the low 20s (ignore the car with the black bonnet which has been for sale for years and is well overpriced), the white one with the gunmetal Rota RKRs* would be a far more sensible purchase for someone with little capability to handle a project.

*Disclaimer: I've driven and worked on that car and it has the old gearbox from my Fairlady Z in it. It isn't perfect but Chris (Vega) has spent plenty on enhancing it into a good buy IMO. A car that could be driven and enjoyed while making incremental improvements where needed. I'd happily have it to play with.

It’s not quite that simple Robbie ... there’s more to it than that in most cases, as well you know ... :D
yes £170 to get it off the boat and extra £55 first time registering it. You need an MOT or you will get an inspection but a UK-sourced car it is good to get an MOT.

still cheaper than all that welding

Thanks for the write up Richie ;)
We both know that is/was a great car for the money, it seems like someone has finally woken up though.
Looks like now sold, young James has taken a deposit today.

Good, finally it gets a home. It will be a good car to enjoy while making incremental improvements should the owner desire.

Plus maybe getting a car to the port in the US/other country, plus insurance on the ship, plus getting it home from the UK port.

That one on Ebay for 16.5K was very tempting, but I do not know how to fit anything :(:( (at least yet). I would have to have someone to do it for me, or with me so that I learn. :D

*it's also in a good state for repainting from yellow to light blue that I like :D (any experience on how much it could cost? out of curiosity)
