I was at Donington over the weekend and of particular interest was the Historic Touring Car Race.

There were three R32 Skylines entered and their performance was very impressive!

Tbh they made the Sierra Cosworths (driven by such people as Steve Soper and Alex Brundle) look second rate.

At one time (early on) the 3 cars were 1, 2 and 3. Unfortunately Simon Garrad retired so it was only a 1, 2!

Surprisingly on track they look quite small and nimble cars, I think of them as being big and heavy.

Bear in mind that the 'Calsonic' and 'Taisan/STP' cars are recently-built 'replicas', and are not accurate in their Gr.A specs. The original cars still exist back in Japan.

The green 'Kyoseki' liveried car driven by Andy Middlehurst and Jonathan Bailey is a genuine, period Japanese Group A machine from the 1992 and 1993 seasons with all the correct period parts.

I was living and working in Japan in the late 1980s and early 1990s, and attended many of the JTC races. The GTRs were astonishingly fast, brutal machines. Made a big impression on me.
