See you all tomorrow. I believe pitch up time is by 9:30 ready to show by 10, I think I read that somewhere?

Yep, the notes say arrival by 9.30, and no movement after 10. Arrivals after 9.30 “may” be required to park in the public car park.

Personally, now I’m coming tomorrow instead of Sunday, I’ll be aiming for an 8-8.30 arrival - meaning upsetting the neighbours here in Macclesfield at 5.30-6ish!

I’ll be waking everyone at 6:00 to get there for 8:00 comfortably.

Stand pass didn’t arrive so if someone sees my ratty silver zed parked at the gate and you have a spare pass, then think of me.

Jon may have a pass for me.

I’m on the Retro Run, start time is a precise 09:36!!!

It’s a 100 mile route and so unlikely to see you good people until after 12:00.

MOST IMPORTANT NOTE

I have to give you all a voting slip to vote. There will be awards for best car and runner up. If I don’t get to put one on your car, please come find me! I’ll be the one wearing a Zclub T-Shirt and bearing aloft the largest black and red golf umbrella you will ever see!!!!

Well chaps, the retro run is wet wet wet but still good fun. I cannot begin to tell you how stunning the grip s with my new Bridgestones.

The start at the Stowe school was a treat to an incredible estate.

Dominic Toretto arrived in the very cool and very long Dodge Charger.

We are currently just over half way and at the Jaguar Landrover Classic “factory”, some seriously nice metal and bacon butties here.

Thankfully a clear run home today but I don’t think the Z has ever been so wet or dirty in my ownership! Given the p’ing rain on the retro run, the car was caked!! It was quite cool having the dirtiest Z amongst all that polished company on our stand!!

But a quick wash, shampoo and rub down with a dead cow and she was grinning again! Incredible how that sandy dirt was everywhere. She even had an underbelly jetwash!

Oh and here’s a funny story, after my little falling off the road incident, I didn’t get the time to check the tracking. But on the motorway, I could tell she was pulling left. So I rang the nearest garage I had used just off Jct9 where I was picking my buddy up and had the alignment done.

They said they could get me on the ramp straight away, so I was hoping for a quick job. After 30 minutes of Z worship and conversation they finally got around to it. Most of the people working there were born in 1991 or later. I felt decidedly old!

But then they couldn’t find any specs on their system and it wouldn’t accept manual settings, so we had to go with settings for a 280zx! Thankfully the car is driving beautifully now even if the back is trying to go right ;)

Thanks to everyone for turning up and showing off your fantastic cars!

I'm sorry I didn't get to meet you all, and didn't properly introduce myself to many - I must try harder next time. Your cars are an inspiration and I'm still learning so it was great to see them.

The weather wasn't great but I think we all still had a blast, didn't we? :)
