Hurry Mr Richie Rich P, the hotels are rammed!! I am staying 12 miles away for that reason!

Who needs a hotel ?

The 'full Silverstone' experience means leaving your car on the stand, watching the live music in the evening, having a few beers and then getting a tractor ride back to the camp site, no stress of getting up early, queuing into the circuit, worrying about how many drinks you can have etc..........

I'm considering this one. I went last year as a guest with VIP tickets. Quite fancy going on Saturday, camping and coming home Sunday. Chris - the full Silverstone experience sounds good to me. Who else is camping?

Do the same campsites open for the Classic as the F1? We always stay on the Dadford Road site, which is pretty cheap for the F1 - Fri-Sun. 15mins walk to the circuit roughly ... not a problem.

Jon Newlyn (organiser/Z Register) always camps in his Bongo.
I will be in a motorhome at best, VW camper with tent awning at worst depending on driver help etc.
May be a couple of other Z..ers with me, Jakey boy will be around but think he has to look after his bengal killer hybrid cat so may nip home as he lives nearby.
Great atmosphere on the camp site and bit like a show on it's own plus the stage area/music is perfect for evening ents.

Silverstone Woodlands on Dadford Road, same as F1 but quieter.

I'm thinking of camping on the Saturday night so I can go all psychedelic & get down to the sounds of Woodstock Festival. Although I was very young I did make the 1970 Isle of Wight festival. What an experience for a young boy! :D The line up included Jimi Hendrix, Free, Chicago, Sly and the Family Stone, The Doors, ELP, The Who, Miles Davis, Joni Mitchell, Jethro Tull, Ten Years After & The Moody Blues. I'm still recovering to this day EXTRA:D :smoke:

But..... if like most years, it lashes it down just as Saturday's music starts I'll most likely jump in the Z and return to RAH.

Whatever happens, I won't be camping. I like pain as much as the next man, but you've got to draw the line somewhere.

Top trump of all top trumps as far as gigs go Jake. IOW wow
Mind you, you probably can't remember much being so young at the time :p

No way it is going to rain on Saturday evening again, law of averages says it can’t.

I'll lend you a tent then and not that little one from Le Mans, I left that in the bin EXTRA:D

Haven't you got a rock god tour bus you can bring along (preferably with some nice groupies inside ?)

I'm looking at canceling a work trip to go along, are people camping in the same area? anyone traveling from the SW?

It says you can reserve places for your friends/club members but how that works in practice I don't know.
Would be good to camp together. I will be there from the Thursday night so can try and reserve some extra spaces - not sure how that works but willing to try - maybe the club can get me some 'Z Club reserved - get off my land signs' :D Do we have a windbreak/banner type thing ? Richie ? Anyone ?

Is this going to be the debut of your long awaited Z then Franky ;)

I’ll bring a wheel nut so it’s there in spirit!
