I think the modern cars were all over the event to be honest. The Porsche stand had about 50x more modern cars than classics!

It doesn't make it right though does it. The Silverstone Classic, just like other events has a set of rules and those rules are pretty clear. If you choose to flaunt them then you're just being an arse. But then it seems to me that a lot of Porsche owners are just self entitled arses. Over the last several years the SC has had a growing number of complaints about the amount of new Porsches on display that had been growing year on year. Last year they may have not only reduced the number of Porsches, and also moved alot of the newer one's out to the edge of the show. But 'too little too late' in my book.

At the Donington 'Historic Festival' a couple of years ago we were smothered by scores of modern Mustangs and Porches. The Mustang guys were revving their cars to make a noise and playing loud music..

Yes and look how empty it was last year. Ever wondered why that was? Although we did get lads having sound offs with underside led lit hot hatches with bangin' sound systems . It's a sad day when your classic car event gets over run by people displaying mobile discos. Who wants to pay to go to an event, and when you arrive you find it's not as described. This PC 'all inclusive' BS is destroying pretty much everything these days, even classic car events. If you buy a new Mustang go to an American car event, a muscle car event, a Ford meet, a Mustang meet, but please leave your modern car at home if you're displaying at a classic car event. If you want to show off your new Mustang, Porsche, Z, MX5, BMW or whatever then take it down to your local Waitrose car park for a few hours or take it to the appropriate car event.
