Search function?

After being confused by this for years i thought I’d ask the question.... How do I use the Search?
I just can’t get it to search through the forums, I’m sure this will make a difference somehow but I’m using an iPhone.

There are confusingly two search icons. The one at the very top does not search the forum but there is a smaller one just under.

best way to search public threads is with google and site:zclub.net prefix

Yeah if anybody knows a full time frontend developer who'd like to help us out with making the big search button work like the small button (along with a host of other jobs) just give me a shout.
