Another boring day at Donington - don't know why I bother

Lots of S30s again and one with a triple Hitachi set-up!

Rob Crofton had problems in his race so we will have to wait to see a 240Z winning again ;)

Dave Jarman was doing really well and running 6th about halfway through his race and then John Cleland got up to his old tricks and 'nerfed' him off at the chicane. John when interviewd said numerous times 'It was my fault - I hold my hands up' but that's not good enough, poor Dave has a DNF and expense. Cleland said 'I'll have to go and find wee Dave Jarman and apologise. Never mind apologise he should compensate him!

....a Samuri ZG....

I think you mean a 240Z with a replica 'G' nose attached to it.

Let's not play fast and loose with the factory designations, now.... ;)

For the record, I wasn't there this year or last year and nor was either of my Fairlady 240ZGs. I believe Jane W. took hers last year though?

That's weird - is it me, or does the car on the left look smaller than the one on the right?

Thoroughly enjoyed our foray down south and wish we could have stayed for day 3. Thanks to Jonathan for organizing the meet and it was good to put names to faces. Back next year.

Just a great big thankyou from me to everyone who attended the Gathering this year again :thumbs:

Despite bitterly cold weather on Saturday, horrendous rain Sunday morning with winds almost taking the event shelter into the sky and then finally blue skies and sunshine from Saturday afternoon onwards, the weekend was certainly the best attended so far.

We had over 30 different vehicles on display at various points of the weekend even with a couple of no-shows (which looking at the weather at times is no real surprise), Sunday being the biggest crowd with 22 vehicles on the stand, and Sean there where 9 Samuri there over the weekend. I'd like to think that our stand drew a lot of attantion from other visitors and will help to raise what is already an upward profile of the cars and the club too, and is certainly now one of the bigger club displays at the event.

The event certainly seems to be Gathering momentum (pun intended) and speaking to various people over the 3 days there does seem to be quite a few cars in various states of build at the moment so hopefully we have inspired some to press on and get even more back on the road.

A big thank you too for the award, a total surprise and a little embarrassed when Steve presented it, but very honoured and it will be proudly displayed at every event my car is at whilst in my possesion.

So again, thanks for the support and all the kind words both here and in person as we all packed up and headed home, and hopefully we can all be out in force again next year.

Rob may know more, but I think it is because the car on the left is quite an early car, originally for the Australian market but sent here instead, no side repeaters either if you look closely

I see now one set of hubcaps was for pre 72 cars and the other was for post 72 240Z and early 260Zs
as Johns is a 71 and Robs is a 73

I'm not sure that those dates are etched in stone Steve. No door mirror either Jonathan.

9x - not bad. :)

Forgot to mention earlier, the organisers gave me some small 10cm x 7cm rectangular stickers as a momento of the weekend and I gave a few out to some of the chaps, but if anyone would like one who didn't get one from me just send me a PM and I'll forward one on to you, cheers.
