What happened with Big Sam? It managed a couple of laps then disappeared, then came out for one more lap later in the race, then gone.

The yellow car you asked about Christian is former Samuri owner Glyn Jones' De Tomaso Pantera.

Great day apart from stupid weather, sunny and very stormy.

I'll post some pics a bit later.

Very good turnout by Z owners, put other clubs to shame. Well done Jonathan!

The two Zs racing today were to be frank - disappointing. Samuri were said to be a 'man in a shed' well that man and that shed did a lot better than JD Classics.

Really good day though - hope it continues tomorrow.

Sorry that you think the Zs racing today were disappointing. Just for the record JD Classics don't run my car - I look after it myself!

Qualifying I think went well with a 1.24 something with Big Sam doing a lap some 6 seconds quicker. In the race I put on wet tyres for the start which was an error as the track quickly dried and I had absolutely no grip and the car felt like it was on marbles. With Rain clouds looming I decided not to pit for slicks and this was proven right as the heavens opened. Lap times then quickly recovered and I ended up back where I started. I agree that it was not the best race but I thoroughly enjoyed it and for me that is what it is all about! Strategy is always hard to get right and given the 240z is an invitation to the HTCC we will never compete for points in the championship and there are some far quicker cars out there in this series. I have to say that in the wet the 240z is an amazing car to drive and I was really impressed with how my car ran today - it is just the driver that needs to go a bit faster!

Misfire I believe...

Nice one - can't promise stable weather at Le Mans either....!

Another very enjoyable day.

Weather cold but dry.

Racing was good, Dave Jarman did really well (first time out since major body repairs) and finished 5th in Super Touring.

BlueZmobile ran well in a race that the car did not suite. I don't know the reason for an early pit stop (outside the 'pit-window' ) but all seemed ok and ran 1.22 most laps however near the very end (1 hour race) I believe the engine 'let go' (need clarification) so a DNF.

A good Z 'turnout' again.

Pics to follow.

Even standing up straight - you don't realise how much you use your muscles for standing.

I know what you mean (trouble since the age of 18) but you made me laugh - we vertebrates do need those muscles to hold the bones in place....
