ONLY £7m ? You didn't get him more than half-cut then....hardly trying since some cars would easily fetch +£20m.....

Yes Alan - why not ? Desirable model, finite supply......

"A Keynesian believes that aggregate demand is influenced by a host of economic decisions—both public and private—and sometimes behaves erratically."...and then some !:D

Ha ha, yeah we did have the odd drink...! His spend was a collective though, not individual Le Mans racers, etc...;)

A friend of mine went to the Auction today, this is what he said

"Not much sold ! possibly due to the Euro vote, people may be slightly lacking in confidence at the moment. Only car that reached above guide price was a recently restored 1957 MGA convertible made just under 24K less costs. I was going to have a go at this one, my top would have been 18K !"

He also said that the reasons given for the withdrawal were either the car had an engine misfire or the vendor had had a change of heart and wasn't sure if he really wanted to sell after all.

Neither reason, least of all the second judging from the price would imho be the real reasons for the withdrawal - everyone would sell their Z for +£110,000 - you said so yourself on the stand last weekend !;)
