The "european courts"?...

Would this be a court of law that happened to be located in Europe, or the actual European Courts ( the courts of justice that govern the EC )? Or do they have a European Court of Cruelty to Z Cars?

Frankly, I'd think it was much more likely that nowhere grander than Trumpton Magistrates Court was involved :D

One thing is for sure, there's always a lot of BS involved when the "Samuri" brand gets mentioned

Hello there. Ive just joined this site. The reason why is that the Car in these pictures EOE 644K, a Samuri, was mine from 1976-1981. I know i sold it to the owner of a Nissan Main Dealership in Solihull. He took it away on a trailer behind a brand new Nissan 4x4. The Samuri was in exceptional condition. He said he was going to get his Workshop to make it concourse, then have it in his showroom as a display car. Some years later, it appeared in "Classic & Sports Cars" for sale. It stated in the advert that the car had stood for years in a showroom. Id love to know where it is now. I got really excited when i saw the pictures of it on this site, although looking sad. Im afraid im the Man responsible for fitting the "tea tray/whale tail" spoiler....like Flares, they looked ok at the time.

Holy thread resurrection Batman! Seriously, hello Partx. Nice to have you here! If I remember rightly that car is/was in a yard in Wigan somewhere. Somebody can correct me if I'm wrong. The owner wasn't inclined to part with it either despite its continuing deterioration.

Wow, we've had a few old thread resurrections recently! Welcome to the club Partx. I've fixed the photos on the first post so anyone reading this now can see what everyone was talking about.

I have the only one left in north wales I think, the one I have was the car partx dreamed of and is the reason he when and bought his, mine is in a sorry state as it was left outside since 1989 it was also bought new by Martin Edwards (yes the old owner of Manchester United)

Hi Partx, I love it when old threads come back to life like this, makes a great updated read 9 years after the original thread :) no sign of your photos though?

And hi too Liam, we have chatted on facebook about your car, and it was (if the plate is correct and has any provenance, which I am sure you have) actually Martin Edwards dad Louis Edwards who bought it for his wife according to the story...??

Yes its true Liam. 9NRE lived further up the steep hill towards the Village centre. It was about 1974/75. I was 18. An off shore Diver named Dave Howarth owned it. Many a time i remember hearing the induction noise from those triple Webbers approaching & throwing my "Big Tits Monthly" across the bedroom before racing to the window & nearly ripping the handle off to get a glimpse! I knew i had to have one! When i saw the car in your Garage nearly 40 years....... on it still excites me.

I tell you what Liam. I sold EOE966K in 1980/81, to the Chap who owned the Nissan /Datsun Main Dealership in Solihull. He wanted it as a show car in his showroom. He said he was going to stand it in his showroom just as a show car. Many years later it appeared in "Classic & Sports car." It was described as being immaculate after being stood in a showroom for a few years. Now, since seeing 9NRE of yours for the first time in 30 years, i decided to HPI my old OEO644K. The current registered keeper has owned it since November 1990! So i think, when it was pictured with weeds growing all around it in that yard.....the same Guy still has it! Must try & post my pictures of it "in its pomp! Did have as go earlier but they havnt loaded up. Its this Computer.....it needs a set of triple webbers or a big valve head or summit.

I spoke to the press office in Manchester United and they have given me a address to write to Martin Edwards and the said he is willing to write to me back concerning the car, the initial stories of it being Louis Edwards car is incorrect and is more likely to of been Martins car and the updated story from the offshore diver who bought the car from a dealer right outside the united ground is 'it was bought for his girlfriend and was sold in spite when they split up

JK240 is correct. I was told by Mike Jones (the 3rd owner) that the first owner of your Car, Samuri 9NRE, was bought....not by Martin Edwards, former Chairman of Manchester Utd, but by his Father....Louis. Himself a former Owner of MUFC. Martin Edwards (Son of Louis) of course sold Manchester Utd to the Glazers & has a House down the Road on "Millionaires Row." I think we should go & knock on his door dont you?

What a great story though. Whether it was Louis or his Son Martin Edawards that bought the car for their "bit on the side." You can just picture them panicking when their Wife found out & selling it to the nearest Garage right outside Old Trafford to get rid quick!
Of course, the story goes on! Dave Howarth saw it on the forecourt & said "I WANT THAT CAR!!" Hadnt he bought a brand new Toyota Celica just two weeks before? When he saw The Samuri he pulled over & said to the Salesman....... "I want that Car now & youve got to take this Celica off me....its only two weeks old"........tbc

No need to write to Manchester Utd. Go around to his house on West Shore Beach. I will come with you. Theres a few along there but I bet hes got Red & White Curtains in his Bedroom!

Yes this car still exists, I know exactly where and saw it a few months ago. There is also another shell that could be used for transplant or panels but also needs work. Both shells still sit outside in the elements. I have heard rumours of this for some years but due to a work colleague I have now been to view and can confirm it is a huge project. It should be available to purchase as far as I am aware !

Ive searched through boxes & boxes of old photos. I have finally found around a dozen of the Car we are talking about "in the long grass"....EOE644K. A few were taken at Samuri Conversions Silverstone in 1980/81. Some show the unmistakable tea tray spoiler with signwriting which i had fitted. Also, im afraid, i also fitted the sunroof!.......and it gets worse!!!....I put a towbar on for my little speedboat! Oh and even that aerial on the leading edge of the roof. All in all they will show EOE644K & my old Car from 1976-1981 are the same Car. I have found a couple of pics of Samuris FDP767L and YES27L parked outside Samuri Conversions in 1980/81 if of any interest. Anyone know who owns them? Any pictures now to compare?? I will upload them this evening. Must go....gota Business to run. Thanks everyone.

Hi Partx, If you look at the link below there are some pictures of YES 27L, although it has a different reg number now VOY 73L (although don't mention it it's a delicate area :) ), and its owned by a great guy called John Jacklin who is a regular member here.

THE WAY OF THE SAMURI: Z FEVER AT DONINGTON - Speedhunters

Also the other car is you mentioned still owned by Paul Matts, also a member here, but he didn't make the recent meet so I haven't any more recent images.

The car appears on the Samuri Register but says its reg is OML10K?

Nick, thats just Mike Lee input error, I am trying to help him get it corrected, but he is a pensioner you know  (Sorry Mike!! ;) )
