Sad news regarding Ken Kay

Sadly, Ken Kay who was the original owner of UAR 603J one of the first two 240Zs that were brought into the UK in 1970 has died

I only meet Ken a couple of times at his son Kevins house and Ken was so entertaining with the tales he told of his time as an exceedingly early Datsun dealer in the UK

All those who met him will remember him with fond affection

Rest in Peace Ken

Small correction Steve, that would be late 1970 rather than 1969.

Ken Kay very much a pioneer in selling Japanese cars in the UK market.

Thank you, Sir. Rest in Peace.

RIP - Ken , great little bit of history.

I love the garage picture. I can imagine the excitement of driving any of those off the forecourt .

I remember my dad test driving a 120y and being in it. He plumped for an escort sadly .

Are the two zeds still around/alive?

The one in the photo is UAR that ken had and after quite a long employment in track racing driven by Ian Peace, Peter Riley and son Tim Riley I believe that Tim took it with him to New Zealand when he emigrated
If you ever see photos of UAR on the track when driven by either Peter firstly and then Tim the front number plate was placed in a different place
The other Car MBP 72J that was sold to Alf Wood of High Wycombe and is very much alive and is owned by Jon Newlyn
