Fitted the front one tonight, no issues to report, and look smart. They’re so light expect the card box box to be empty!

Good colour match too - thanks for sharing the photos - may I post them up please ?

Question - what is the diameter of your air intake flexi-tube - 100mm ?

Sean, no problem with posting them, I’ll send you the full res ones.
The air tube is 100mm wire spiral wound, it just about fits through the front panel, I think the hole was slightly off round 103 at widest 97 at narrowest.

Ram-Air - never again - they don't have the internal strength required.

Jenvey Heritage 45mm ITBs. Do you know what your timing advance is in °s ?

No as it was mostly run in when it got shipped over but I’m looking at something like Richiep put up re: the Honda tubeing, there is a place in Dunmow that can make the pipe work up to suit but as it’s pushing over 300 bhp I need a bigger air filter like the one I’ve already got,I just need to make it a bit tidier but not had the time lately as June hasn’t been to clever

you don't need to go bigger, a e46 airbox inlet is about 85mm, so you won't be restricting power at all.
An E46 what? the 325 only makes 190bhp. Flow charts and dyno results suggest 85mm is restrictive above 240bhp. Unless you’re turbo’d

e46 m3, s50b32, 325ish standard, some cammed engines making 350bhp at 9000rpm, standard airbox and maf, half a Mac f1 engine, it didn't struggle?
I can’t argue with their figures but they’re applying a lot more technology to it than we are. Basic airbox design figures suggest much less from 85mm and rather than shoot for the stars and come up short I would say go with the larger diameters. This is a extract from the Reverie website (who I assume also know a bit about air boxes). Also born out by dyno testing carried out by Dave Walker on I believe Skidell’s car where the smaller bore was found to be restrictive 031DD535-75BA-4321-B0CC-0974814DFE57.png

Its good enough for production engines with all the other restrictions, also its shifting a lot of air, i'd imagine a straight 6 would work better than a 4 cylinder with a smaller inlet for a given cylinder volume.

All I'm saying is, there's lots to it! its effectively a fairly simple engine..........

I’ve got one of skids boxes so I’ll stick to wot skids came up with regarding performance, flow ect as I don’t know anyone on here that’s has done as much as skids regarding the research rather than than just reading about it but yeah it is a simple 60 s Engine but it works
