S30 / 130 G'Box to S14

Hi guys

Anyone know if there are any differences between the 260Z and 280ZX gearboxes?

I want a box as a basis for a S14 conversion.

Steve, I think the boxes will be the same for your purpose.

Yep the 280zx box can have different rations depending on early or late, late box is close ratio with an high geared 5th.
They use brass type Borg Warner sysncros which are easier to get replacements for rather than the porshe type steel used in the S30 boxes. The late 280zx has some minor casing differences longer "ears" on shift mount and only a single exhaust mount point at the rear. I fitted one to my 2602+2 no problem and has been quite a bit better.
The early 280zx is almost the same as a 260z box, but with the differnt syncros.

There are the same, 240 box too, as all you need is the bellhousing.
