Steve's explanation will give you a good understanding of how the current sensing tacho works. How will this device you bought give out a variable current signal that the tacho will understand?

Still nothing . Gonna try the settings on the laptop . Well confused now .

Leo. Getting back to principles. You have a Tacho that senses current spikes and counts them. Unless you have a load on the end of the tacho wire that has current peaks whenever a plug is fired then your going know where. Will the device you have got do that?

If it was me then I would just buy another tacho that will accept your ecu tacho output.
