If any of you are in the area of Mallory Park on August 12th, I have entered the Retrorides Quick 60 sprint event again this year.
The Saturday is the sprint event and then Sunday is the Retrorides show day with track time available.

Be great to see any club members/Z owners on Saturday

Guys, this was a great event last year. Sadly I can't make it this year because I'm on holiday (just checked the calendar).

Highlights from last year - variety of cars, the speed of the really quick modern and expensive missiles, the sound of Ben's 240Z (I witnessed spectators commenting too) and Ben's hospitality (Z enthusiasts are always welcome).

Watch the end of this!

Please go along and support him.

Ben mine's a pint of real ale please. ;)

We’ll be there in our 240z. Was looking forward to seeing your car and meeting you last year, unfortunately we had to cancel coming at the last minute due to a very poorly dog.

I am only there on Saturday for the quick 60 event but it would be good to meet you

Ben's car, in fact any well modified L6 sound fantastic. And they all have the same distinctive sound.

I saw you running up the hill as wisecombe part yesterday. Car sounded lovely.
Hi, thank you for braving the weather. Come and find us in the paddock next time. It was nice to be at a meeting where the car was finally running properly after the issues of the last few seasons. We only run the engine to 6500rpm and use the torque to pull the car. Seems to work well

Only a week away from this 2 day event now.

Saturday is the Quick 60 event and then weather permitting I should be staying up for the sunday retrorides show and hopfully some more track time.

Be good to meet any Zed owners if you can make it

Shame I'm away this year. Mallory is so close to me I can hear the racing. I was there on Wednesday at Huggies (imports Datsuns) for a bike meeting and trackday.

Good to see Cristian and Ken to catch up. Sadly the class structure this year was not too friendly to the older normally aspirated cars. There were an abundance of Time attack, turbos and scooby 4wd cars which were unbelievably quick. The leader in the class I was running in was a time attack car that was 9 seconds quicker than me.
Positives to take away from the meeting.
The car ran faultlessly. I bought it home in one piece despite a hairy moment at the chicane when I was too ambitious with the braking point and went over the grass
I did beat the 6R4 metro rally car, but was 9th out of 13 in the first round with only the top 8 going through to the next.

Still a great event and hopefully with some class reworking for next year we may be competitive again. I am hoping they either split the normally aspirated from turbo, 4wd from 2wd and possibly pre 90 and post 90 again.
As we left, the heavens opened and mallory park was under a rainbow
