Is it just me or does the picture post by Ian look photoshopped.....badly. If your look at the bronze part on the end of the crank, it comes out at the wrong angle. The end of it looks too round. If it came out at the correct angle it would appear more oval in shape. Anyway, it just looks wrong.

I fully get the the fun of the engineering challenge but, as Steve said, is it really worth it.

Guess mocked up just for the picture, prob just the belt holding the drive in situ hence on the pi55

I would like to see the build thread on the engine and the engineering involved in getting that far. All I can see from the pictures is an rb head resting on an l series block an an Ali plate on the from of the block. The bottom pulley doesn't look connected to the crank. I'd like to be more convinced so do you have a link to a build thread?

The build of the engine in Ian's photo is the topic of the thread EvilChuckie posted the link to above. It gets a bit off track in places due to some hoo-hah over bhp claims and Rebello (American ponies vs. Aus/GB horses!) but the builder, Pete from PMC Race Engines, down under, was the OP.

Yeah, it was Pete from PMC race engines in Aussiland, which I why I can't see it being photoshopped.
