Rahail builds an 'Homage'

It is a bit like the Mona Lisa it doesn’t matter how many times you copy it and how well you copy it, even if the quality is exquisite it will always be a fake! unless the cars were modified at the Silverstone workshop by Samuri conversions then they are all tributes, recreations, copies or whatever you want to call them. Those in the know can judge what is a real Samuri and what is not, without going down a rabbit hole in this forum. Samuri is alive and well and will soon return to their heritage of competing with the 240Z in motorsport and adding to our considerable history.

Welcome back- I know there was some anticipation and excitement when you posted your return , but activity a on here and your website seems to have been quiet -

love to hear of any updates?

That intro thread seemed to end with discussion about brand ownership.

Have you spoken to Rahail about his ‘fake ‘ - do you have cause or claim to do so?

Thanks, and apologies for the quiet period, we were focussed on Getting CBH to Donington Park and then over the Winter getting the car prepared and ready to enter in an appropriate racing series. Then COVID came along and changed everything. I have been outside the UK throughout but in regular contact with Kevin on our game plan.

stay tuned for further announcements after we get through the current crisis.

We haven’t spoken to Rahail but copying is a form of flattery and in some ways supports the brand and keeps it alive. I am sure his customer has spent a lot of money to get a car to that spec and level of quality but because it is a “homage” car and not a genuine Samuri the value will be reduced proportionately. After all we built and raced a 250 GTO based in a 240Z, which was a great car but not worth the $50 Million that the original 34 cars do. There is a place for everyone in this arena and no point in getting bitter and twisted and choking on your sangria.

well done Rahail great job, top quality and underpins the Samuri brand our focus will be Motorsport and adding to our Chequered history. If you are interested in getting on track in a Samuri, then give us a call, we are ready

Look forward to more updates .

I aren’t a Facebook user - but was directed there from a link and enjoyed some of the old photos .

I’d imagine because it’s an Mzr build it’ll be one of the most valuable samuris? If not the most valuable outside the 3 with real history?

anyway ignore the brand stuff, as that only adds value to a small audience, it’s good to see effort being put into building decent cars.

it is the correct spelling!
I've not noticed it spelt with a second 'a' in that position before, just samuri (the warrior) or samuri (the Z car). I wasn't sure if you were poking fun or I was just uninformed (not an uncommon occurrence!).

I lost track of how many Samuri spellings there are ( but like the cars ) in this thread - suspect auto correct plays havoc ......
