Chopped up from a Honda CRX induction kit off of eBay which I believe is now discontinued based on conversation I've since had.

Yeh, that's what i was afraid of, the only ones Ive been able to find over the last few months are in the US, with postage its £40 for a bit of pipe.

I was thinking of getting an exhaust place to make me one up, but I'd have to have all the other bits in place, and even then it may well cost the same or more anyway.

I did it the other way round, with straight silicone hose from the airbox to the radiator and a standard 90 degree aluminium tube to turn through the rad support panel. No special parts required.

This type of thing would do me - ok no comments please. Function first.

I found this earlier which is cheap but functional, so ill use it for the time being and decide on the metal pipe at a later date. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3-Air-In...e=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649

Also with the flexible stuff, although it doesn't look so neat, it does allow for easier removal of the air box cover when you need better access to the carbs for any reason.

Another vote for the Mishimoto radiator. Really high quality, fit and forget. I also got their hoses which are very nice, albeit a bit pricey!

Yes, it is a bit clean and purposeful. Puts mine to shame and it's not as if the car is a 'trailer queen'.

Thanks Rob :) I'm glad that last point isn't lost on people, these cars were meant made to be driven first and foremost!

No doubt caused by previous owners using weak or no corrosion inhibitors in their coolant.

Hey - I'm looking for a tip on what would be the best coolant to use. Also, any tips on flushing the system prior to installing my new radiator. Thanks, Graeme

"best" would probably be Evans waterless but for most that's over kill.
I use this stuff with a little cheap silicate antifreeze

To flush, take the rad hoses off and the block drain and run a hose through it every which way. Same for the rad.

Dumb question - what is that?
Never dumb if you don't know!
It's basically a small radiator which carries coolant (usually hot from the engine). The heater fan blows air through this radiator picking up heat from the coolant then entering the car through the vents to warm your toes, fingers, screen.
When flushing the cooling system put a low pressure garden hose on one of the two pipes protruding into the engine bay from the bulkhead. Flush until it runs clean then do the same with the other pipe. Helps to put another hose on the other pipe to direct water away from the engine bay.
