Radar Detectors

Hi, I was wondering how many of you guys have a radar detector and what opinions are on how well they work, which is the best to buy etc. Im thinking of The Road Angel because i think you can buy an attachment for a motorbike.(Has anyone used this??)

Has anyone at the club ever thought of arranging a kind of "bulk buy" deal for these? I know some time back a similar deal was done for carbon bonnets. I would be interested in finding out how that was arranged.

Cheers

I personally use and sell the Origin b2. This consistently gets the best reviews and tops the polls and tests. Very versatile and user programmable GPS camera detection system (ALL types, including info on SPECS zones) with add-on laser detection. Radar is not much used these days, but a radar module can be purchased as an option. Also warns of accident black spots, congestion charging and school zones.

I have been doing a discount scheme for 350Z owners (very popular with them) which I am more than happy to extend to Z Club members - 10% discount and free shipping. I am an Origin Approved Reseller, so your guarantees are preserved (unlike many special offer deals).

I use a Road Angel, it locates all the fixed cameras via GPS and has a 'reactive' mobile detector (I'm not sure how effective this is though).

Favourite mobile locations are also 'flagged up' via GPS. All GPS data depends on the database held by the supplier and is also updated via the internet to synchronise 'user' locations which you can store in the module as you discover them.

Another benefit for me is that in the 240 it gives me an accurate speed reading which my speedo can't due to gearing changes.

It is easily transfered from one vehicle to another.

Thanks Rob, Im stil tempted with the Road Angel because of the motorbike adaptor. What is a "reactive" mobile detector?

By 'reactive' I mean the detector responds to the camera beam as opposed to locating it purely by GPS, which is what it does for fixed cameras.

Rader Detectors

The only failing with the reactive camera detectors is as soon as your detector gives it warning bleep/flashing light or whatever its letting you know you are being targeted by a laser gun/camera and you have been nicked, a way round this is too install an add on to the detector something like THIS, which plugs straight into the Originb2, :)
