Well, I've taken the plunge and bought that 280z lol. Been to see it tonight, it needs a roof skin, a door, and a rear lower quarter repair, plus inner wing is holed under battery tray. Is there a repair panel available for that? It's a fair bit of work but it's salvageable I'm sure. Will be collecting it in a couple of weeks

As with all S30 purchases, buy the best structural car you can as it will save you money in the long run. Apart from the doors, is this one solid?

If your initial budget is 10k, save yourself some hassle and check this out. Would also allow you to drive an L-series engined car before writing that option off and jumping on the RB bandwagon. It's funny how quite a few people think they need a hybrid mega-hp swap without a frame of reference.

Does anyone know anything about this car? What's peoples opinions on the price? Thanks

It seems pretty good, roof needs replacement due to sunroof leaking, right hand door is holy, bit of rot on lower rear corner, hole under battery tray, and front floor pans are a bit scabby. Bulkhead, chassis rails, inner wings (apart from the one place under battery), boot floor and rest of car in general seems to be nice and solid.

Car appears to be a good starting point for a resto. i.e. just been neglected however you have to see these cars in the flesh. Price, well you always want a bit off don't you ;).

However keep an eye on Johnny Palmer's 260 on ebay.

Just looking at the z store website over in cali, they have some of the repair panels i need. Has anyone used them over here? Are they ok to deal with, and are postal charges reasonable? (some postage prices on eBay are ridiculous, 40 dollars for a pillar badge lol)

Dave - I buy from Mike at MJP. He gets deliveries from the Z store all the time. By the time you add up postage and duty, you wont save much if any by buying direct.

Ah that's good to know then, be cool to be able to buy parts in England as I work all over and can usually collect while I'm on my travels, save further postage and risk of damage etc

I've bought quite a few bits n bobs from there, spoke to Ryan a number of times, always been very helpful, he'll bundle items together to help on carriage and gave me some discount too via a 10% discount voucher
