Looking forward to see what you do with this, as its a great looking car. Sounds like you will make it look even better when you are finished.

I got more samples in for the trim and think I'm nearly there. I'm still going to look at some soft furnishing fabrics for the seating though.

Meanwhile, the pile of interior trim that requires painting is building up, and I am looking for vehicle rollover spits for the serious work

Well its really hard getting any day where I can uncover the 280 or paint outside. Wet, windy, YUK

Managed to get more out of the boot, threw the aerial and rear wiper away, got the boot lid trim and struts out, and removed the stereo surround.

Despite anything else yesterday I managed to get those sill plates primered up ready to paint. They were a bit of a nightmare.

I have managed to get a lot done. The dash it all de-rusted and painted ready for re-covering, the rear speakers are in, the interior including vents is all gutted and clean, lights refurbished, the aircon control unit fixed...

It's now at Mikey Beans unit where there is enough room to get REALLY messy, remove the engine and put it on a restoration spit.

Some progress with the body this weekend. Removed rear hatch, passenger side spoiler fin, mostly unattached passenger side rear quarter and side skirt, wipers, battery, dashboard cross-member, heater matrix and rear-quarter glass panels.

This week I have two major jobs, rebuilding the VG30 for the 300 as I now have all the parts I need, bar the cam belt kit and continuing to strip the 280 body. The 300 engine is tomorrow night, I need to gap my rings and get my pistons and crank in, if I can achieve that, I'll be happy.

Well, the biggest pig in the car to re-cover is now complete.

And finally, because of lots pointing out that the light grey dash may cause a lot of windscreen glare, I made a quick cover that can be thrown on.

I want some chrome rings to go in the dial cluster. Does anyone know where I can get them in the right sizes? I think it would finish it off nicely.

Ive finished the stereo surround and transmission tunnel parts aswell, just need to go take a pic with the new camera.

Ive got the top trim back on the door card now and have ordered some chrome strip to go along the top of the carpet piece.

Nope, still not been brave enough to get onto the seats. I broke the sewing machine, then managed to fix it again,... getting there with it.

Not too purple? lol

Just to say, had a drive past pro strip, playing guess the car games with the shells Sat outside in The rain!

Not mine, it's still tucked up safe and warm, not sent off yet, and I dont think it's going to pro strip. Feel sorry for whoevers they are though

Particularly loving the door card! Great combo...

Cool :) The door card is a very good indication of how the seats are going to look too. I should work some purple into the dash somehow, but the glove box was hard enough without piping and I was still frightened to death of that big mean sewing machine at the time I did that part.

I wonder if that prostrip uses phosphoric acid under the Phos Strip trade mark name, its what i use but i wipe down with meths after when dry, as water washes away the protective ferric/iron phospate coating and prime straight after.

Really nice to see it developing. I saw it some time ago under its previous owner, so it's nice to see it living on you know. Makes me want one.
