You need to use the img tag things, like you would if you were embedding an image from another website.
Upload the pic you want to use in to your gallery. Once it's approved, open it, right click, choose propertis. Copy the address URL (http://www.zclub.net/blah-di-blah/yourpic.jpg) then go to your control panel to edit your signature. In the text box add this:
<img>http://www.zclub.net/blah-di-blah/yourpic.jpg</img>
except use [ and ] instead of < and >, and obviously the correct URL to the pic.

BTW I'm not guaranteeing that will work but I'd say it's your best bet.

He's almost there. Click on Quote in my post and do a copy and paste into your sig., if ya want, Neil. The guys are right, you're just missing that one little / in your last img tag. How dare it be so picky, huh?

What I'll do is run a poll sometime to see what people want.
I will have to restrict the size of images otherwise like you said we could have chaos.
I never actually intended people to be able to add pictures, I had to turn it on to add an image to Mr.F as he is a trader and someone else spotted it could be done
How about only paid up club members can add an image... least that way you have paid to annoy everyone

what about a sepeate group for traders and then only alowing traders to have pictures
and could we not have say two avatars alowed so people could have a small avatar and a small photo of there car in the top information banner of thier posts
maybe that info banner should be it a different colour and only certain group of members of the forum wouild be allowed to show avatars, photo and special privbaledged banner
must admit I also don't like the thought of enomous pictures at the bottom of posts as mention by others

There's an option in your User CP that allows you to disable avatars and sigs., if you want. On one of the forums I moderate, it's set up to where the person's sig. shows up in only the 1st post on each page, and thereafter, the program automatically omits it. This really helps those who use a dial-up connection.

Thanks for that russ, to be honest now that russ has re-sized my pix i dont feel that its in ya face it could even be made a little smaller, but i do agree grolls that the 300zx forum is a mish mash but if we all keep to a sensible size then i dont see the problem, maybe russ could limit the sizegrolls said:

If an image is shown only on the first post by a member in the thread it won't help download speeds at all as the image will already be cached on your pc. However I don't want to see a 300zx.co.uk look here as I agree its too strung out.
A new group for traders is perfectly do-able. So is a little image of a car in the header. There doesn't appear to be anything to manage signatures in VB3, but VB3.5 is out/out soon so that may include something.
The idea of a small car pic near your avatar is growing on me, this could then link to your virtual garage, something I will be implementing after this weekend.
Basically if you guys can dream it up, I can code it. Its just TIME lol.
