Max publicité, nice story - sounds like a great idea.

What if the daughter sees the auction - how do you react ?

Like a gentleman of course.

She asked if I was keeping the car and I told her that after I made the necessary mechanical repairs to get the car drivable, it would probably go down the road.

BAT has Zs going through on a regular basis and most are not in same league as your's Mike so I think it would do really well. Great colour ( amazing how fashions and tastes come around again, few year ago you couldnt give brown or white cars away, now full circle ) and original paint, holy grail car !

Perfect BaT car Mike. Odd battle scar adds to the deal with the original paint ... no-one will need to talk this one up. Looking forward to seeing it on there if it happens.

Totally agree with the colour statement of brown and white cars Chris.

I see you have been following the green car on BAT.

I do wonder if the Zeds on BAT have reached a saturation point for the BAT regulars.

I am also concerned that they are demanding very low reserves too which may throw a wrench in the deal as well. I'll let you know what their response is when I submit it.

That green car wasn't all that Mike - I know BaT regulars like to wax lyrical about seemingly every Z that makes it for auction there but I couldn't understand the enthusiasm for the green one, I really couldn't.

Sure, it was a nice example, but that was about all - looked like it had had a complete respray many years ago for me as well. this one here is much nicer, with original paint as well ...

No idea what the reserve would have been on the green one, but I'm sure they'll give you an idea of what yours should be - and you'll have your own idea of course.

Noooooo.....plenty of buyers here but not for most of the muck being imported into the UK and by some Dutch pros !

Correction : going INTO.....as far as I can tell, Zs weren't officially imported into the former Eastern-bloc countries...

Correction : Neither were LHD here either.

There's **** stuff thats less than ideal coming in everywhere. Some good stuff coming in everywhere also.

Ah but did they never, ever officially import not even a few LHD cars into the UK ?

I've already started a post on the cakk that I've seen imported......got shot down in flames and you were in the Spitfire so choose your 'side'.:p

Probably not too far off Sean from what I think the reserve "should" be however i think BAT will hit me up for $15-17K reserve.

He who dares wins Rodders ( or Michael ) a saying we all know and love this side of the pond, unless you are an afficianado for classic British comedy series may mean nothing, but you get the drift.

I will bid it to $ 20k so you have a safety net ;)

If BaT want a $15k reserve Mike, I'd tell them where to go ... that's daft. We'd all give you that NOW. And Chris a lot more. So START at $20k ... otherwise what's the point. From the little I've seen (in detail) of the car and bearing in mind others that have gone through on BaT of similar spec I'd say late 20s ... so I'd want a reserve of mid 20s ... otherwise there's people over in Europe who would snap that up for decent money I'm sure.

Even in brown.

Only you know what it cost you and what it's costing to get ready for sale so only you're privy to the figures ... and know how much you need to make.
