Regarding the battery tray, I removed mine and then converted to a bolt in item as its almost impossible to paint when welded back in.

Hopefully you’ll get some love for the project back Matt once all this has been dealt with. Nasty business to have to deal with.

Not being in control of other’s actions is one of the contributors to my own upskilling to do as much metal and bodywork myself. I’ll put as much effort in as necessary to get a satisfactory outcome.

I've not been as unfortunate as yourself, however I have had to have the car painted twice. So I do feel your pain.

It can really take the wind out of your sails.

Unfortunately it has happened a few times 'on here' i.e. members having to take cars back off poor bodyshops and get the job finished by a better 'shop.

mine was as ‘simple’ (expensive) as poor paint work, moisture in it. Actually took a couple of years to come through. The one good thing about not having time is that I didn’t waste time as it’d have to have been stripped again

The new body shop look to be doing a good job, it'll soon be back and you will at least have all the parts ready :)
