Hopefully bushes will take a week to come....

Going to strip all the arms off and blast them all down bare before repainting them and then fitting the bushes.

:)

Got red ones so everyone can see what a "bush whore" I am with my new shiny bushes! :D.

I did not make the title,
But you would be incorrect.
An oxymoron is where 2 contradictory words are used in conjuction in the same sentence.
For example, "She was really good at being a really bad cook.

Don

To answer your question re the top hose, yes sounds like the thermostat is junk and yes it is mounted in the housing at the front of the cylinder head.

Sounds like you need a Haynes workshop manual ;)

I was just using that listing as an example of the book as I had eBay open at the time. Buy it from Mike Feeney or from Amazon. It's overpriced on eBay anyway!

Okay. Thanks very much.

Thermostat took me 3 and a bit hours today.

1 bolt came out successfully. The other was soooo bad and I was soo carefil with it, and it still snapped.

Took me over an hour to remove it!

Got it out nice and clean thoughin the end. :)

Pics to follow.

Thermostat was F**KED!!

Was filled with a sandy paste.

Took an hour to clean it sll up nicely to a good standard.

Pictures to follow....

It might be a good idea to take the top and bottom hoses off and give both the block and rad a darn good flush out, if you haven't done so already. You might have to do it several times, just to get all the sludge out.

Yes. :)

I got some radiator flush for it.

Will be doing it just before I replace with silicone hoses.

I know that is the only place where the **** was gathered because I had to replace one of the lower larger hoses already because it was spurting a little fountain, and no **** came out of it.

Thermostat housing now heating up, good sign there, but the only gauge that still does not work is the temp gauge! So problem only half solved. Might be sensor or wiring.... Do not think that there would be a separate fuse just for the temp gauge?! Someone correct me if I am wrong please.

For now though the car is running okay.

Also someone had filled the clutch fluid reservoir with water!!! ><. So flushed all that out today, and looks like I will be replacing both the clutch sevo and slave cylinder.

Lool.

Can anyone andwer this question?

Are the 240z/260z/280zx clutch master cylinders and clutch slave cylinders of the same fitment?

I have been looking and it seems that they will all be interchangeable with the benefit that the 280zx clutch master cylinder has a larger bore.

Can anyone confirm that they are interchangeable for me please?

Many thanks, Antonio.

This suggests that they are interchsngeable across all S30 and S130 models.

So would be better off with 280zx parts because of the larger madter cylinder = easier clutch pedal.
