True on both counts, but especially in America, they seem to genuinely hate the things, names like boat and whale are common descriptions!

I must admit a standard 2+2 with it's high ride height doesn't do it for me, but then nor does a standard 240/260, but a nice restomod 2+2 is as good as any similar 240/260 in my eyes :D

I wonder how rare the 280z 2+2 and Fairlady GS31 2/2 are by comparison?

I have to admit my 2+2 needs to drop an inch or two.
I think the Americans hate the 260 so much because it only had about 120 bhp due to the emissions, hence the injected 280 after just over a year of the 260.

I love my original look - yes, it's a 'crap' US market car with the awful ratio and soft suspension and a gear missing but I won't be dropping the ride height on all on it.

Same goes for women, we all have our ideal!

We all have our own likes and dislikes and there's nothing wrong with expressing that, not so good when it gets expressed in a derogatory and/or belittling fashion.

Hello if the 260 2+2 is rare what about the 260 2/2 .

The coupe was allways more desirable and we use to call the 2+2 an estate Zed and the same names as the yanks use but since a few have been done up and lowered with a decent set of wheels on em they look pretty dam good
The 280 z isn’t rare loads in the states and a better car to drive than a standard 240/260

The 260z still hasn’t made it to my house yet. The full service done and currently with the detailing company getting the original body and parts looking as good as a 40 year old car can look. I’m really please with what we’ve found so far - no rust! Not bad for a survivor car, and even better once the detainees have started cleaning everting up.
Passed the MOT as well with no advisories.

What's original and what's been restored previously on it do you think?

Just got the car delivered today and first time seeing it. Love it. The guys who sorted the collection have done a great job replacing all fluids, services, new tyres and MOT. They then spent a week detailing it.
There’s been a few localised touch ups but looks great and spotless underneath, and looks unrestored (low miles, only on the road for 10 years before laid up).
Feels a bit woolly so need to do the suspension rubbers and also got new shocks and springs but these are winter jobs.
From limited knowledge (so far) I can see it’s got the wrong nose badge and the bumpers might be 240Z, and the carbs are 240Z.
Will know more later when I’ve had a better look.

10 years on the road was enough to see off most UK cars! The brake drums/front calipers look new/ restored. Car looks fantastic and in the best colour of course!

Engine bay pic. Need to see what’s been changed, and assume the carbs and filter housing, and plug lea
The detailing company have cleaned and painted the callipers/drums and ‘dressed’ the inner wheel arches. It has had new brakes fitted a couple of years ago, but everything else done was before it was stored in ‘91.

Have a few interior pics, but not many.
I got a few magazines and the auction brochure with the car to show where the vendor (dealer) bought it in 2017. It presented well but a few issues where the original owner must have tried to fix and spoiled it a little. The detailing company have managed to make it look better up close without having to think about a respray. So far so good and really pleased with it :)
