Look I was given this car as is I have done nothing to it but I would like to do something with it that's all it has all been strengthened underneath and the pillars on the windscreen I don't really caire on how much it's worth I would just like to have fun and enjoy it for what it is and if you can except that it would be great this is the closest to able to afford a 260z so why not a

If you have been given it then that should tell you something. But the good news is that you are probably able to sell parts for folding money. If this car was rough but had it's roof it would be worth something and i doubt whether you would have been given it.

IMO don't spent time or money on it.

I'm in the Midlands too and may be able to assess and guide you further but I am never going to advise you to carry on with it.

Iain, the roof is part of the unibody, so is massively structurally important for the integrity of the car. Without it, it'll flex and bend all over the place without a lot of strengthening.
You may have a lot of strengthening. [emoji736]
If you've got that covered and the rest of it isn't too rusty then you can make something that'll be fun. Depends on your skills really.
Would be great to see it at Santa Pod.

A cage will definitely help.
Mike Feeney (http://www.mjpshop.co.uk) is good for parts in the UK if you want quick and he has it or you're not sure what you need.
If he hasn't got it or you know what you want and are prepared to wait and pay import duty etc there's a lot in the US.
Www.rockauto.com for standard parts, and then there are lots of exotic parts in the US and Japan.
What sort of stuff are you after?

Please don't be put off by negative comments as they are often meant well. This sounds like a great project to me and look forward to seeing the results. A well thought out cage should restore any lost strength and probably suit the car well.
