Having had a Yaris T-Sport in the family in the past (which is nowhere near as sorted as this new GR), I can see the attraction. Should be a mental little beast. 260bhp?

These aren't being released in the US btw. There was a lot of moping and sad in the comments section on Japanese Nostalgic Car to that news!

It's another ugly bug with those horrible protruding Civic rear lights but no doubt very competent......I still love my 'mild' Corolla T-Sport....but rather than the Yaris, I'd try and find a Sunny GTI-R - with even more kudos for a lot less :

You have to look how special it is. Its not the badge, its what's going on underneath. I bet they're selling at a loss.

That is of course the rather large sticking point. I love the idea, but might be rather more interesting on the used market in a few years. If I was going to dump 30k on a modern, it would be a used V8 Mustang...

Its just the 'made for purpose' that I like. Something fun about big companies making cars that they loose money on as its just designed for a single goal. Could you imagine trying to keep up with it down a twisty B road!?
