NEW TO SITE AND NEED DATING CERTIFICATE

Hello My names David i own a small import company in the north east of Scotland, we mainly deal in mpvs small auto's from Japan and we have a workshop in Thailand where we deal with classic and high performance vehicles.

I have a customer in the UK who purchased a what we believe is a 240Z shell with no paperwork or documentation the DVLA can not find a record of the car could someone please help me we need a dating cert or manufacturers document so i can then generate a nova and get the car registered.

Hi David, the first task is to join the Club as a paying 'Club Member' to allow you access to this kind of service.

I doubt your requirement will be easy but the more experienced at this will post up I'm sure.

The VIN will tell us what model shell it is. If you give us the 'letters' we can confirm that.

Full chassis number is HLS30-64654

HLS30-64654 would normally be expected to fall within the cohort of January 1971 production.

If it is a North American market car, it *should* have a Federally-mandated dating plate on the LH door jamb. This states the chassis number and the production month & year combo.

Getting an officially-recognised 'Dating Certificate' that corresponds should be pretty easy in comparison to some of the other S30-series variants.

This is sounding positive il ask about dating plate however im pretty sure its not there the car was bought in a sorry state can we still get what we need without it obviosuly we don't mind paying for someone's time to do this
