Had a little test of the hitachi radio cassete today, impressed that it still works, even auto tunes itself, its well 70s waching the tuning knob go round as the frquency pointer goes up and its scale until it findsView attachment 19063View attachment 19064 a station

Yes I gather the later 260z's did have 'up to date' radio cassette players. Mine have been earlier cars with either just a push-button radio or a radio/8 track! Yours is clearly 'state of the art'. Didn't realise that auto-tune was around in the 70's but others will know more.

Good luck with the project.

Had a run to the mot station the other day after a bit of work and all passed ok, when i checked on line the poor old girl was on the road for the first 14 years of it life and then couped up in some old garage for the next 24 years probably explains why the interiors in such good shape and low mileage

Thought i would have a nose inside the rear 1/4 panels today and have a look at the rear inner arches quite pleased what it looked like in there. Question for Derrick and others where are the metal fuel lines run on a late 260z and looking at your red 260 resto Derrick where has the vent holes gone for the air tubes ?

Hi Terry there are no air vents to the air tubes on the 78 260z not sure why but I've seen a few 78 cars and none have the plastic ducts to the air tubes evolution i guess
.
