Welcome, think you mean a 260z, 240z were never manufactured as 2+2, nice to see another one on the road over here :D

Welcome to the club and congrats on your purchase

I'll let voices with more expirience chime in and correct me incase I'm wrong however you have purchased a 2+2 configuration car which I believe didn't come in until the 260Z, so I believe you've got a 260Z 2+2. I hope that is what you were expecting....

Have you got any more info or details on the car?

I'm no expert but I believe the Japanese cars were not called 240/260 although that is what we all know and understand. If it was a UK car then it would be a 260z 2+2. 240z's were not produced in '74. Being a fairlady this is a desirable car though.

Welcome to the club! Looks like a nice clean car with low miles!

What are your plans for her? Drive, polish, display? Daily driver? Modify?

Where in the country are you?

Great taste, I've fancied an R32 for quite a while now but silly money... Some nice JDM icons!

    Welcome :)

I am trying to work out which red it is. It looks like 905 to in that pic but I thought they only did that for a short while on the early cars and the majority are 110 red. Or perhaps I'm thinking of the US market... (most likely!)

Suppose its hard to tell by the photographs will the paint code be on the chassis plate,

Mine has a silver sticker on the cross member where the bonnet hinges. Unfortunately, the black lettering has all but worn off so I'm guessing mine at the moment!

Welcome to JDM Fairlady Z 2+2 ownership. As said before, these are based on the 260Z 2+2 not the 240Z. Does yours have the original Jap spec of the L20 2.0 litre engine or has it been swapped out for a 2.6 (or bigger)? Not a lot of JDM S30 2+2s in this country. Mine's a 75. Was your car (not the Skyline but the other one) on show at the Goodwood meet back in October? I seem to recall seeing a similar one there.

Good meet to get to is the Samuri Gathering at Donington - usually the first main meet of the year and plenty of S30s & S130s (280ZXs) there.

You certainly have a rare beast there. I don't know of another S30 Fairlady Z with the original L20. Mine had a L20 until a couple of years ago but although it drove fine, it didn't give me the 'wow' factor I was looking for in a Z so I changed it for a L26. I was really torn between originality and drivability but the extra power and smootheness of the bigger engine won although I did want to keep the L-series engine. Also, there were already some non-original parts on it so originality had already gone out the window and I wasn't looking at creating a concours car.

You will find that nearly everything from the front to the dashboard is the same as a 2-seater 260Z but from the dash back is different and you will have difficulty getting hold of parts as there aren't many places that do them for the 2+2 especially panels. The only different part on yours is the carbs. Normally on an L20 they are the 1.5inch round top Hitachi SUs whereas on larger engines they are normally the 1.75 inch although people have been known to put 2" or triple webers or Dellortos on. The 260Z came with flat top carbs on some which, quite frankly, are boat anchors. If you have those, you would probably benefit from changing them, both for power and fuel economy. You might also still have all the emissions gubbins.

Would be good to see some more detailed pics if you have them.

I'm glad I didn't guess at the make of the other car. I knew it was a Toyota but would have guessed at a Corolla GT. Shows how much I know (or not!!) although Mr Tenno had given me a clue which I didn't notice before.

Thank you for the information,i will be keeping the car original i am getting a bit long in the tooth now to work on my cars. The car is original inside and out if i want to have a good thrash about in the hills near me i will either take the skyline or the ae86.What attracted me to the car was the looks and the low milage.
