So far I’ve done the following
Oil flush and filters replaced
Engine six belt changed
Coolant and air filters changed
Stripped/ cleaned/ rebuilt/ balanced carbs
Replaced fuel filter/ spark plugs/ distributor/ rotor arm
Adjusted ignition timing
Brake fluid flushed and replaced
Gearbox and final drive oil replaced

At the end of this month I’m tackling the below

Door re- alignment
Fix passenger door lock
Remove, clean, re-seal sump
Adjust handbrake
Remove, resealable reinstall front windscreen ( small leak currently)
Insrall a retro sound stereo and 4 rear speakers and electric aerial
Front seats re- covered - leather and cloth

In the spring I’ll look at dents/ rust areas and paintwork

That’s enough to keep me going :)

and for the rest of your Z life :p

That’s a great list - I wish I had that list of jobs!! My list is “long and distinguished, like my Johnson!” (Name that movie, give away your age!).

Good work so far, you have been a busy boy!

Would love to see how you get on with your seat re-covering. I want to rebuild my seats and have them re-upholstered but don’t want them to look un-stock either.

Have to say though mr @Alphabettispaghetti has some very tasty seats that would be tempting but the 260 had pretty good seats to start with so I’d like to keep them.

Out of interest, which stereo are you thinking of and where are you thinking of installing the speakers? It's not something I'll get round to for a year or 2 but I still think about it! 😂

Here are the current stripy seats and the planned new ones .
The stereo is a retrosound hermosa with chrome knobs
The 6 inch speakers will go in the original speaker bays near the rear door and also 2 4 inchers behind the higher up sections nearer the front seats - where there are speaker type holes .

That's an excellent install! I hate it when you can see aftermarket speakers, so I'll definitely be going down this route too. Thanks!

P.s. good old Aussies, still acceptable to have scantily clad lady posters all over the walls of the workshop there clearly 😂

I stuck some 6x9s in the toolbox cavities. Only really listened to music on long journeys as the engine noise is music enough, so they are usually just hidden under the boot carpet. 😎

Ah yes I've seen that method too! Does the carpet not make it sound quite muffled? Or do you just turn the treble up loads to compensate? 😂

Cheshire Plainz Steve? My first thought was Steve Kemp but his car is a 240Z.
This car, RUN878N, was owned by Steve Foster, a guy who had been active in the Cheshire Plainz group back in the 90s. He had been less active in the 2000s, but I met him a few times at shows over the years. He restored it mostly himself if I remember correctly. It's a good looking car and perfectly enjoyable without too much work in the interim. Bodywork will be something to deal with eventually as it reflects its vintage as an older resto when the cars were worth little (sheet metal floorpans for example). I'm sure you've got all that kind of stuff on a to-do list though OP! :D
