Managed to get to the event on Sunday & made a Beeline for the CZR & 300ZX stands. Managed to get a few photos of the 240Zs before my phone died and the camera with it. Unfortunately didn't get any of the Z32s

All 3 240Zs were American imports but 2 had been converted to RHD. I hadn't seen an early model with the tailgate vents before so it was interesting to see the differences to the later ones. All 3 were stunning examples. Enjoy the pics!

Not sure which of the 2 stands you were on.

I had a long conversation with a chap on the S30 stand (I think he was the owner of the blue car) and got some good advice about changing my headlights to H4.

Didn't manage to get to talk to anyone on the 300ZX stand as they were really busy at the time and I was being pestered to move on by my companions.

Maybe next year!

:beatdeadhorse::Anyway, back to the NEC .............. I really enjoyed it :)
So did I. It just gets better every year. Visited the CZR and the 300 stand. Loved looking round the cars up for auction with Silverstone. Watched the Wheeler Dealer pair in action on stage for a while. Loved the auto jumble area as always. But the highlight was Miss Sweden as you walked in!

What did you enjoy about the NEC please ?

What did you not ?

What would you do better next time ,

Pardon the questions - it's been 23yrs since I've been.

The main thing for me was how many people appreciated the Z's there and told you so, the last time I had a 240Z there was 15yrs ago when I was in the Autoglym Concours and the general opinion was ' what's that doing in a classic car concours' very different this time around, maybe attitudes have gradually changed over the past 15yrs, it was a massive leap for me, ' my dad had one of these' , ' my mates dad had one' , ' I used to go into the Datsun dealer, sit in one and look at the 160mph speedo' , 'not see one of these for years', ' not seen one of these ever' , 'any of these for sale?' Very positive weekend indeed, what would I change? Not much tbh, you said it looked like a pub car park meet on the stand, it probably did, but with 80 odd members the glitz and lights of Porsche Club are far away, met many, many sound people who really appreciated the 'Pretty little Z' not my words btw

I was visiting NEC for the first time, and this was on Saturday.
My first comment is that it is huge, and it well represents the passion of people for this automobile history and tradition! It was a very nice discovery and visit.

One comment about the timing as we left from France on Thursday, and started with a very friendly meeting with Mike Feeney and Johnymd in the end afternoon/evening. We then drove to Nuneaton the next morning where I had to visit a company for my business, and continued to Nottingham to have a chat at AutomodZ and ZCenter. We then moved to Leicester to stay for the evening. I was having dinner with a friend when I had a phone call around 10pm/ 11pm french time: My wife started to tell me about the disaster in Paris, and I really could not believe it for a few minutes. We had a few more phone conversations until 2 am on Saturday, and the more information we had, the more the situation was becoming worse. We had a strange sleep, and waking up, the news were confirming the situation in Paris.

We drove to NEC, parked the car, and went immediately to the Pavillion where the Z stands were taking place. Very nice cars, both for the 300ZX and for the Z on display.
Starting chats with the Z32 guys on the stand, they all were giving the required attention about that horrible night. We were all expecting fun and laughs, but it turned to something like a sad feeling.

We then decided to have a look around the exhibition, as the walk and admiration for all the cars presented would help to change our minds. Five and half hours of real fantastic discoveries, and we were feeling better.

We came back to the 300ZX stand, and all decided to have dinner together. The evening was very enjoyable, and we talked about Spa Classic 2016 and Le Mans Classic 2016. Some are planning to come next year in France!

We stayed in Rugby for the night, and drove back to Dover and the crossing to be in Reims end of afternoon. A nice trip overall, with very nice meetings and show.

A cousin of my wife was supposed to go to the Bataclan for the concert with his girlfriend, but they could not get tickets to enter. It was not their hour. The concern is still there, and the reality of the unexpected danger also. Life continues!

Sorry to be so oriented in this report, but it has been a disturbing few days.
Thanks to the clubs and organisers. I am proud of driving such nice cars and meet with guys like you all!
